Pneumatic actuation is widely used in conveyors and general industrial equipment, but air compressibility can affect stiffness and response in some designs.

Electromagnetic brakes provide fast response and simple electrical integration, often used as motor brakes or for smaller hoists and positioning tasks. However, they may be less suitable for extreme torques without scaling size and heat management. The best choice is the one that meets torque and duty cycle needs while fitting your site’s power infrastructure and service practices.
